Prevention is certainly more effective than cure but is sometimes hard to prioritise. At the Western Road Surgery we try to incorporate this into our approach to our patients, providing screening blood tests, blood pressure checks, height/weight and BMI reviews, prostate, cervical and breast screening, smoking and alcohol cessation and general healthy lifestyle advice. We provide access to 24 hour blood pressure monitoring and ECG recording should they be required. We can facilitate access to community physiotherapy services, dieticians, psychotherapy, occupational and speech and language therapy. We are part of the Clonakilty Primary Care Team.

Services Provided

Cholesterol testing, diabetic testing, warfain INR testing, blood pressure monitoring (including access to 24 hour blood pressure monitoring), obesity and weight loss, lifestyle advice, smoking cessation, management of haemochromatosis, asthma and COPD. The seasonal Influenza Vaccine and Pneumococcal Vaccination are also available.
